FAQ

“For real? Church at the Bar? Seriously?”

Yes, it’s true. Once a month (fourth Wednesday at 7p.m.) we’re meeting at a bar for food and conversation. We think you’ll find it to be fun and relaxed (not boring or scary).

“Why would you do that?”

Hoping you would ask! Go Show Love Ministries desires to follow the example of Jesus, who started spiritual conversations in the streets, at parties, on hillsides, while walking, eating, and fishing, with sick people, sad people, sinful people, struttin’-their-stuff people, strapped-for-cash people, smart people and stupid people (yes Jesus actually called people’s words and actions foolish at times…but he still loved them.)

“So what does that even mean to have church at the bar?”

The leaders of Go Show Love Ministries believe:

  • Church is not a building or an institution; church is a community of people who are sharing and celebrating Life with God. Think of it not as a noun, but as a verb.
  • Church can be anywhere because God’s Spirit and God’s people are everywhere.
  • Church can be anytime because Life with God is all the time (everyday, not just once a week).

“Who comes to something like that?”

Everyone is welcome to the “no judgment zone” – check it out for something different and engaging.

“When can I check it out?”

The next Church at the Bar is in February 2013.

“How can I contact you?”
